The Frigid Immortals Trilogy
A genre-blending cocktail of fantasy, romance, thriller, horror, and drama with a splash of dark comedy and a heavy dose of magic. It’s a binge-worthy series, starring everyone’s favorite God of Mischief—the Dark Prince of Asgard—Loki and a fiery Vanir woman named Sigyn who might just be the only person he never knew he couldn’t live without.
-About The Frigid Immortals Trilogy
“I’ve just read straight through the first two stories and realized that I’ve been so enthralled I forgot to comment. Your story is absolutely wonderful, I love your spin on it. Wow, it’s awesome.”
-Ferbette (AO3 review, Fallen CH 14 “I Will Find You.” , 27 Nov 2017)
“Hopefully not on hiatus too much longer 🙂 Love it so far – a well thought out (and also sexy!) canon departure with a possibility of a happy(ish?) ending…there aren’t too many of those!”
-Sterne (AO3 review, Fearless CH 6 “Storms Pass, Loki.” , 01 May 2018)
“I just saw that this story is now on hiatus. I wanted to let you know that even if you never write another word for it this will remain one of my favorite Loki stories. Thank you so much for writing it.”
-Ferbette (AO3 2nd reading review, Fearless CH 6 “Storms Pass, Loki.” , 18 Aug 2018)
“I been following your series from the beginning. Never lost hope. Your writing style is amazing.”
-Rims (AO3 review, Fearless CH 7 “Trust Me, I’ve Got This.”, 07 Sep 2018)
“I have been binging the trilogy this weekend and I Love it!! The chapter songs have given me a whole new playlist!!”
-Mischief76 (AO3 review, Fearless CH 8 “A Heavy Gift.”, 18 Aug 2018)
“I have been binge reading this series since I found it and now I have finally caught up. I unfortunately do not have the vocabulary to express how much I enjoyed it, how well written it is, how creative the plot and the characters are and how wonderful the style of writing is. I thank you for sticking with this series for so goddamn long, even when evidently life gets tough. I hope you know how greatly it is appreciated. I adore the liberties you have taken with the actual facts of the MCU. These minor and major changes make all the difference – not being able to see what’s coming next is highly important to me, and I enjoy it very much on the rare occasion it does happen. It is a breath of fresh air because usually writers go in the direction of changing the events a little and adding the OFC into the mix. What you did was completely different and so splendid to read. The plot twists in this story are SOMETHING.”
-Esmerelda (AO3 review, Fearless CH 11 “Home is Chaos”, 21 Apr 2019)
“This is hands down the best Loki+Sigyn trilogy I’ve ever had the pleasure to read!!! Love it from the bottom of my heart! Kudos to you and lots of love.”
-Maïté (AO3 review, Fearless CH 1 “You’ll Have Your Answers Later, Stark.”, 09 Sep 2019)
“I just love the writing and the entire story. In all seriousness, every time you post a new update, I get the urge (and usually give in) to go back and reread the series from the beginning. Your story and the way you tell it is phenomenal!”
-OhTheObsessions (AO3 review, Fearless CH 14 “No Rules…Tick Tock.”, 28 Sep 2019)
“You know I’ve read all of this trilogy already, but I just want to say a few things if you don’t mind: I think your quotes are amazing!! -“Green is for life” “Storms pass” and so many great others!! I so love this trilogy with all my heart!! This is pure gold!!”
-Maïté (AO3 2nd reading review, Fearless CH 10 “Hold On, We’re Going Home. (Green is For Life Part 2)”, 26 Jan 2020)
“Reading my way through the series again. Oh how I love this story”
-Ferbette (AO3 3rd reading review, Frigid CH 5 “For the Price of Naught” , 08 Jan 2021)

Welcome to Asgard, darlings. Now remember, time runs differently here in the Realm Eternal. Your “Midgardian” clock might claim that Loki and Sigyn met eons ago in 2011, but surely you don’t think the nine realms— the entire universe, more like —adjust their own clocks to suit the mortal concept of time? Hmm…let’s not let our egos run away with us, little loves.
Don’t forget to leave reviews in the comments section at the bottom of the chapters, be that as you go, or at the end of the books. Better yet, do both. Nothing but love and virtual hugs for all.

GLOSSARY OF UNUSUAL PHRASES/TERMS USED IN THE FRIGID IMMORTALS TRILOGY: ÆSIR: people and/or gods and goddesses from Asgard. Often referred to as Asgardians. HEL: shortened from Helheim, realm of the dead. “Hel” is “hell” and used as such. Ex: “By Hel!” “What the Hel?” “Go to Hel!” Immortal characters always use “Hel” as opposed to the typical spelling. (Human/mortal dialogue is written as “hell” to reflect the English spelling.) NORNS: witch-like beings from the realm Nornheim, much like oracles. Ex: “By the Norns!” “Norns help us.” “Norns!” (similar to “oh my god!”) EIR WILLING: The chief healer in Asgard is Eir. Her name is used in place of “god willing”. GODS (PLURAL): Due to Æsir polytheism, they use “GODS” in everyday speech rather than the more common singular “GOD”. Ex: “Dear godS!” “GodSdamn!” “Oh my godS” (the extra “s” is only highlighted in this glossary, not in the actual text.) SEIÐR: magic/sorcery/spellcasting (variation “seiður” is the sorcer/ess casting spells) THE NINE: Refers to “the nine realms” of Norse mythology, often used as part of an exclamation. Asgardians and/or immortals typically say “What in the nine?” rather than “What in the world?”

“Alright, FINE. I admit it—I tended to commit ACCIDENTAL arson, but I could learn to control that bad habit. It was (still is) quite a task though, considering I’m a FIRE sorceress. I’d simply needed the right instructor to teach me how to control it, and my mother just so happened to know the right person for the job—Queen Frigga of Asgard. I wasn’t thrilled to leave my home in Vanaheim to instead surround myself with arrogant Asgardian elitists who looked down their noses at me (quite LITERALLY—they all stand a head taller than me!), but I didn’t have the luxury of CHOICE at that point. If I wanted to keep all my parts, I had to get my act together.
Of course, my “learn to control the fire under my skin” plan went up in smoke (pun intended) the moment I walked into the damn throne room to meet the queen. Her sons had been there, and dear GODS, the younger one—Prince Loki (referred to as “the Dark Son” apparently)—made everything else just…disappear. Sure, he’s an extremely talented master sorcerer and quite skilled at literally making anything vanish into thin air, but he’d hardly needed magic to blind me to everything that wasn’t HIM. He was just…MAGNETIC. I wasn’t prepared for that at ALL. Usually I’M the flame in every scenario, but when I saw him, I turned into a measly moth because HE was the flame. Naturally, this meant I would do ANYTHING to get close to him. Well—mission accomplished. Now everything is extremely complicated and…heated.
My father warned me that Loki was trouble, and I probably should have heeded my father’s words, but what did it really matter? After all, Loki was no more troublesome than me. Hopefully, this won’t end badly. But…ugh, I have a feeling it will.“
-Sigyn, Noblewoman of Vanaheim, in Part 1: FRIGID
Alright, admittedly she sometimes commits accidental arson, but Sigyn is working on controlling that bad habit. It’s hard, though—she’s a fire sorceress! If anyone can help her, it’s Queen Frigga of Asgard, so it’s high time she leaves Vanaheim behind to get her act together before she gets arrested or worse. But oh gods, fire isn’t the only thing that makes her burn up in Asgard. Frigga’s second son, Loki, is….wow. Things are about to get extremely complicated and….heated. Oh, that man is trouble. Then again, so is she. Hopefully this won’t end badly. Ugh, she has a feeling it will.

“I can’t believe my eyes. Sig’s body is breaking apart. She fell, and I’m too late to save her. Is there any way in Hel I can bring her back?! Gods help me, I am NOT a skilled necromancer!
But…even if I can get her back…what then? Should I let Sif(miserable woman!) bring Thor home from Earth? And oh gods, what of my bargain with Laufey? I’m a KING now, and that could be a bit…disastrous… for my already-questionable reputation. I don’t want the people to fear me(alright, maybe a little)—truly, I want to be better than that!
But NONE of it matters if Sig is lost to me. She’s the literal fire to my ice, for Hel’s sake. I don’t just want her—I NEED her. How can I rule a realm if I’m drowning in grief? I MUST bring her back—no option. She would do the same for me. Gods, maybe she won’t have to.
Of course, I’ve never been much of an optimist, so…I think it best that I stop THINKING at all and focus on avoiding my own death while trying to pull this Lazarus stunt with the love of my life.
Stars above, falling in love is such a dangerous game.”
-Loki, Prince of Asgard, in Part 2: FALLEN
Nothing in his life could have prepared him to watch her die 200 feet below him. without Sigyn, nothing in his life would matter. ever. not anymore — She was the literal fire to his ice. How could he possibly rule a realm if he was drowning in grief for her? No, he must bring her back. She would have done the same for him. Hopefully, she would never have to. sadly, something deep in his gut told him that she would.

“The desert would break most anyone. Good thing I didn’t break. Fools. They’ll regret sending me here for their leader (whoever he is). Right. As though I would ACTUALLY do any such thing for those SADISTS. Landing in that basement lab in Catalina just off the coast of SoCal was beyond intense. And unbearably painful. Of course, the pain vanished when I realized Sig was in that room too…not that I have a clue how the Hel she pulled that off.
Now here we are, in this archaic flying contraption headed to some Los Angeles high rise and wondering how to get back to Asgard. More importantly, wondering how to dethrone my brother since the blond brute isn’t king material after all. I WARNED THEM, DID I NOT?
Successful or not, those monsters who tortured me will come for me, and they won’t spare Sig either, which is why we (along with every Asgardian strong enough to lift a sword!) will fight the battle of our lives. With fire or ice, or BOTH, we’ll win. Whatever it takes to save everything we love.”
-Loki, Prince of Asgard, in Part 3: FEARLESS
Turns out Thor isn’t king material(shocker), but Loki isn’t the heir, so what the Hel can he even do? Say he takes the throne back, but the monsters who tortured him come for him, or worse, come for her?! No, he and Sigyn and all of Asgard will fight the battle of their lives if that comes to pass. With fire or ice, or both, they’ll win… Whatever it takes.

Hello Jen!
I finally managed to read chapter 16 of Fearless.
An as always, you did not disappoint!
Reading this, I almost forget how much I love and adore this beautiful trilogy of yours.
When Sinir calls Loki”father”, I love that moment so much, it was very touching!
And Logyn on the battle field is so empwering and magnificent to watch!
Smoke and ice really go well together.
Green is for life, I love that line so much!
Gosh, I just adore your writing so much, you have no idea.
Just know that I look forward to your other stories, as well as the end of Fearless.
I’ll miss it, that’s for sure.
Logyn is life!!!!!!!!!!
Keep up the brilliant writing, dear Jen.
You always deliver, I know you do!!
My goodness, forgive me for only just now replying to all these beautiful comments that you’ve left. I learned today that my resident “tech expert” over here on my end has been approving comments, and forgetting to mention it to me for a couple months. *shakes head and rolls eyes* Guess this explains why my site always tells me I have “zero new comments”…it thinks *I* already read them.
Well, at least it’s an easy problem to fix!
You’ll get a ton of responses from me today, but at least you’ll know it wasn’t because I was ignoring your sweet words for months on end. 😉
I’m glad you appreciated that moment with Sinir. Loki needed to hear it, and Sin needed to “say” it. “One horse, one rider, for life” is the Asgardian way in this trilogy, after all. Loki *is* his father in a way. And after losing Fenrir in Fallen, I felt that this moment between Sin and Loki had even more significance.
As for smoke and ice–I agree! I get so excited envisioning what Sig and Loki’s magic would look like on a battlefield, and trying to describe it visually is a JOB. (not really a “job”…more like…me whining to myself that I can’t make it sound cool enough XD)
I’m glad you still like “green is for life” because I’m not done using it yet. 😉
You’ll see when I post Fearless chapter 17 in September. (Yes, I finally have the “due date” scheduled properly now, thank goodness!)
Thank you so much for letting me know what things really “work” for you in my posts.
HUGS!
