nothing in his life could have prepared him to watch her die 200 feet below him. without sigyn, nothing in his life would matter. ever. not anymore — She was the literal fire to his ice. How could he possibly rule a realm if he was drowning in grief for her? No, he must bring her back. She would have done the same for him. I’m a KING now, and that could be a bit disastrous for my already-questionable reputation.
But none of it matters if Sig is lost to me. She’s the literal fire to my ice, for Hel’s sake. I don’t just want her—I NEED her. How can I rule a realm if I’m drowning in grief? I MUST bring her back—no option. She would do the same for me. Gods, maybe she won’t have to. Of course, I’ve never been much of an optimist, so…
